The Eighth annual SPLASH motorcycle riding adventure - Photos Page 3

The bikes gather at Horseshoe Lake in Woodland, WA for our spirited SPLASH ride Saturday morning.

A gathering of twenty motorcycles set out on Saturday morning from Horseshoe Lake in southern Washington.

Our adventure begins with a beautiful tour through the green forest at the foot of Mount St. Helens.

Traffic was light, except for our roaring stream of motorcycles. The lead rider made sure to stop at crucial intersections and the group stayed together nicely for the entire day's ride.

The scenery broke from secluded green forest to wide open pastures as the meandering road egged us on to yet another stretch of remote riding.

We took lunch in a small town on the shore of the Columbia River. Then continued along the Gorge, which proved very windy. The sun shone all day without fear of the few raindrops that speckled ever so lightly on our visors at the beginning of our journey.

Hey Bob? Does this bike make my butt look fast??

The first group stops for a break while the rest catch up.  Not just another street corner hang out!
Motorcycle grazing area only!  Debbie the windscreen washer at your service!
A transition from mountain to pasture, we stop and let the rest catch up. (Yep, that's me!)  We rode so far that the mountains look small and distant. Another great day of riding!

The adventure continues after lunch...
